Denis Lawson played the role of Rebel pilot Wedge Antilles in Star Wars (1977), The Empire Strikes Back (1980) and Return of the Jedi (1983).

After appearing in the Original Trilogy, Denis Lawson played the character several more times, including in the last Star Wars film The Rise of Skywalker (2019) and the video game Star Wars: Squadrons (2020).

Wedge is a beloved character who appeared in many Star Wars books and comics in addition to the movies. But in his role Lawson also inspired people, including two of his nephews. One of them, Colin, became a fighter pilot in the British Royal Air Force ... and the other one, Ewan, was cast as Obi-Wan Kenobi in the Star Wars Prequels in the late 1990s.
