Denis Lawson (born September 27, 1947) is a Scottish actor, director and writer, gaining acclaim both on the stage and on the small and big screen.
Star Wars fans know him best as rebel pilot Wedge Antilles, a role he played in Star Wars (1977), The Empire Strikes Back (1980) and Return of the Jedi (1983).
After appearing in the Original Trilogy, Denis Lawson played the character several more times, including in the last Star Wars film The Rise of Skywalker (2019) and the video game Star Wars: Squadrons (2020).
Wedge is a beloved character who appeared in many Star Wars books and comics in addition to the movies. But in his role Lawson also inspired people, including two of his nephews. One of them, Colin, became a fighter pilot in the British Royal Air Force ... and the other one, Ewan, was cast as Obi-Wan Kenobi in the Star Wars Prequels in the late 1990s.
Since Lawson made his acting debut in the late 1960s, he has starred in numerous well-known British shows, such as the hospital drama Holby City and recently in the popular police drama New Tricks. For his role in the drama Bleak House he even was nominated for both an Emmy and a BAFTA award.
This is the first time Denis Lawson will be appearing at a convention in the Benelux. Don't miss this chance to meet him in person, hear behind-the-scenes stories, and get your own personal memorabilia signed by the man himself.
