Dermot Crowley (born 19 March 1947) is an Irish stage, film and television actor, best known to Star Wars fans from his role as General Crix Madine in Star Wars Episode VI: Return of the Jedi.

Dermot Crowley has a long career appearing on stage, in feature films and many TV series, such as Father Ted, Jonathan Creek, A Touch of Frost, Holby City, The Bill and Midsomer MurdersHis most famous TV role is arguably that of DSU Martin Schenk in the acclaimed series Luther , playing opposite Idris Elba and reprising the role for the upcoming film Luther: The Fallen Sun available from March 10 on Netflix.

Besides Return of the Jedi , Dermot can be seen on the big screen in various other roles such as playing Lieutenant Kamp in the James Bond-film Octopussy (1983), Sgt. François Duval in Son of the Pink Panther (1993), and Lazar Kaganovich in the critically acclaimed political satire, The Death of Stalin (2017).

Stage work included a leading role in an Olivier Award winning production of Conor McPherson's The Weir, and appearing in The Cripple of Inishmaan at the Kirk Douglas Theater in Los Angeles, for which he won the L.A. Drama Critics Circle Award for Featured Performance.
