[:nl]Angus MacInnes werd geboren op 27 oktober 1947 in het Canadese plaatsje Windsor. Hij studeerde drama in zijn geboorteland maar verhuisde daarna naar Engeland om aan de Londense Academy of Music and Dramatic Art verder te studeren.
Carrière
Aan het begin van zijn carrière speelde hij diverse kleine rolletjes in televisieseries en films. Zo was hij te zien in de sci-fi klassieker “Rollerball” uit 1975. Hierna volgde de rol waar hij het meest bekend door is geworden. In de eerste Star Wars-film uit 1977 speelde hij de rol van Gold Leader, de Y-wing piloot die ook bekend is onder de naam John “Dutch” Vander.
Door de jaren heen verscheen hij in diverse producties zoals “Superman II” (1980), “Witness” (met Harrison Ford, 1985), “Hellraiser II” (1988), “Judge Dredd” (1995), “Captain Philips” (2013) en recentelijk in de populaire serie “Vikings“.
Terug naar Star Wars
Na een periode van bijna veertig jaar keerde hij terug naar het universum hier ver, ver vandaan. In “Rogue One: A Star Wars Story” (2016) was hij wederom te zien als Gold Leader. Met behulp van niet eerder gebruikte, oude beelden en nieuw ingesproken dialoog werd hij onderdeel van de Battle of Scarif.
Angus MacInnes zal tijdens de Echo Base Con vragen beantwoorden van de bezoekers en een signeersessie houden.

Career
At the beginning of his career he played several small roles in television series and movies, such as in the scifi classic “Rollerball” from 1975. After this followed the role he has become most famous for. In the first Star Wars movie from 1977 he played the role of Gold Leader, the Y-wing pilot also known as John “Dutch” Vander.
Through the years he appeared in all sorts of productions such as “Superman II” (1980), “Witness” (with Harrison Ford, 1985), “Hellraiser II” (1988), “Judge Dredd” (1995), “Captain Philips” (2013) and recently in the popular series “Vikings“.
Returning to Star Wars
After a period of almost fourty years he returned to the galaxy far, far away. In “Rogue One: A Star Wars Story” (2016) he once again could be seen as Gold Leader. With the help of previously unused, old footage and newly spoken dialogue he became a part of the Battle of Scarif.
