Today we introduce the seventh guest to our expanding guest list. His appearances at events are rare, so we are honoured he will be making a visit to Echo Base Con next month. Welcome Lee Towersey!
In 2013, Lee was asked to join Neal Scanlan’s creature effects team for Star Wars: Episode VII – The Force Awakens, based on the high quality of his home-built R2-D2. For that film, he was responsible for building and operating R2-D2.
For the subsequent films Rogue One: A Star Wars Story, Star Wars: Episode VIII – The Last Jedi and Solo: A Star Wars Story, Lee worked on building and operating numerous droids, such as BB-units, Mouse Droids and Power Droids.
Lee returned to work on the latest instalment in the Skywalker saga, Star Wars: Episode IX – The Rise of Skywalker, where again he brings R2-D2 to life.
Lee Towersey will be answering questions of visitors and taking part in a signing session at Echo Base Con.
C-3PO: "Oh my dear old friend. How I've missed you."
