[:nl]Paul Brooke werd geboren op 22 november 1944 in Londen, Engeland. Hij begon zijn carrière zoals veel van zijn collega’s op de planken van de Londense theaters. Zijn film- en televisiewerk begon eind jaren ’60, waar hij zo’n vijftig jaar lang in tal van producties te zien was. Inmiddels is hij alweer een jaar of tien gepensioneerd.
Star Wars-fans kennen hem waarschijnlijk het beste als de Rancor keeper genaamd Malakili, te zien in Star Wars: Episode VI – Return of the Jedi. Hij was daarnaast ook te zien in films als Bridget Jones Diary, The Phantom of the Opera en Greystoke: The Legend of Tarzan, Lord of the Apes.
Engeland staat op televisiegebied vooral bekend om zijn vele dramaseries, detectiveseries en comedy’s en ook hierin heeft Paul vele rollen gespeeld. Denk aan series als Midsomer Murders, The Black Adder en Mr. Bean, maar hij was bijvoorbeeld ook te zien in een aflevering van de Lucasfilm-productie The Young Indiana Jones Chronicles.
Paul Brooke zal tijdens de Echo Base Con vragen beantwoorden van de bezoekers en een signeersessie houden.

His movie and television work started in the late sixties and spanned fifty years in dozens of productions. However, he has retired from acting about ten years ago.
Star Wars fans probably know him best as the Rancor keeper who goes by the name of Malakili, from Star Wars: Episode VI – Return of the Jedi. He could also be seen in such movies as Bridget Jones Diary, The Phantom of the Opera and Greystoke: The Legend of Tarzan, Lord of the Apes.
On the subject of television England is well known for its dramas, detectives and comedies and in these Paul had his fair share of roles.
